Abstract

We present an approach for cost minimal/welfare maximal capacity expansion planning decisions of electric energy systems using decomposition and adaptive refinement methods. To this end we first formulate a nonlinear mathematical model for the optimal planning and control of a electrical energy system. Afterwards we describe a method to iteratively derive and solve minimal feasible MIP-relaxations of this problem and present numerical results for reallife instances.
