Abstract

The authors regret that there was a mistake in calculating the number of outer membrane vesicles incubated with each cell. On page 48, paragraph 2.5., line 25, it should read “and the cells were incubated with 10, 100, 1,000 and 10,000 purified OMVs” and page 51, paragraph 3.2., line 13, should read “concentrations of 10,000 OMVs/cell no cytotoxic effects were observed”. According to this, Figs. 3 and S3 were modified. These errors do not change the conclusions published in this work. The authors also regret to correct that bacto peptone and not soy peptone was used for the preparation of M-medium (page 47, paragraph 2.1., line 6). The authors would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.
