Abstract

This work proposes an additively manufactured full E-band wavemode transition from WR12 waveguide to differential microstrip line. The specimens are fabricated using an industrial grade digital light processing (DLP) printing system with a subsequent electroless silver plating incorporating the slotted waveguide approach. Measurements at a back-to-back setup yield a matching of |S11| < −15 dB over the entire E-band and an overall attenuation of nearly < 3 dB including two transitions and a 30 mm differential microstrip transmission line (MSL) in between. Hence, an insertion loss of far less than 1.5 dB is achieved for each transition, indicating suitability for mm-Wave applications.
