Abstract

This paper presents an extension to the equivalent circuit of a three-port inductor model which enhances the quality factor accuracy by precisely considering the parasitic substrate losses caused by eddy current effects. The proposed equivalent circuit allows to correctly model the broadband frequency dependency of the substrate admittances. Furthermore it is applied to an almost fully analytical extraction procedure and can therefore be used for the generation of scalable inductor models.
