Abstract

This paper describes the concept and basic algorithms of a flexible off-line programming system which has been specially developed for 3D laser processing tasks such as cutting or welding. The most important feature of the system is a technology oriented path planning, which simultaneously considers the part geometry, the particular process parameters and the properties of the machine tool.
