Abstract

By looking at the novels Die PX-Story (1959) and Transgression (2015), which both feature interracial German-American couples of the postwar years, the article investigates their emphasis on (racialized, sexualized, and gendered) power asymmetries and social strictures imposed on transnational cultural and personal relations.
