Abstract

Very compact and highly efficient charging solutions for plug in hybrid and full electric vehicles are mandatory for the breakthrough of electric mobility. In this paper very compact designs for uni- and bidirectional chargers using SiC and GaN devices are presented. For long haul capability of battery powered vehicles, fast chargers must be installed in a cost and energy efficient way. In the very challenging field of inductive charging, a small, lightweight and highly efficient solution is shown.
