Abstract

The implementation and management of technology and innovation processes increasingly gain importance due to fierce competition and continuously changing environmental conditions on world markets. Facing its realization, theory and practice have not yet unanimously agreed on how to efficiently and effectively manage innovation processes. Based on a theoretical framework about different innovation types and strategies, four operational aspects of implementing and managing innovation processes are introduced and systematically compared with corresponding practices of an international elevator/escalator engineering company. The article concludes that the selected company provides an example of best-practice management of innovation processes.
