Abstract

We report high capacity 1-mm graded-index polymer optical fiber (GI-POF) shortrange interconnects employing discrete multitone (DMT) modulation technique. The bit rates of 13.09 Gb/s over 15 m and 28.19 Gb/s over 1 m were achieved at 0 dBm fiber-coupled power and BER of 10-3. The record capacity of 31.74 Gb/s over 1-m link was achieved at +2 dBm fiber-coupled power. © 2013 OSA.
