Abstract

UMLinux system, which helps in hardware fault injection and for setting systems consisting of several networked virtual machines, is discussed. A UMLinux virtual machine is fully network capable and one can connect it to other virtual machines as well as to real machines. UMLinux also supports automization for benchmarking experiments or large scale testing. It was shown that UMLinux is ideal to analyze the behavior of Linux applications and the Linux kernel in the presence of hardware faults.
