Abstract

D-symmetrical tripodal tris(malonate) tethers have been used for the synthesis of [60]fullerene tris-adducts with an e,e,e addition pattern bearing topologically distinct polar and equatorial addend zones that can selectively be deprotected. © The Royal Society of Chemistry 2005.
