Abstract

We report on a new doubled-balanced diode mixer with multi-decade bandwidth. Our hybrid integrated design is feasible with commercially available components and includes a housing with coaxial connectors. The fundamental mixing conversion loss of our mixer is at most 17 dB from 1 to 46 GHz. Third harmonic mixing conversion loss does not exceed 31 dB between 2 and 119 GHz. Our mixer operates between 500 MHz and 119 GHz with a maximum conversion loss of 31 dB by combining fundamental and third harmonic mixing mode. © 2008 EuMA.
