Abstract

A simulative investigation of a microstrip-based environment for a planar Heterostructure Barrier Charge Swing multiplier optimized for tripler operation from 100 GHz to 300 GHz is presented. Design considerations for both the planar circuitry and the geometrical dimensions of the split-block mount are given. Results obtained by full 3D electromagnetic software simulations are presented and experimentally validated by transmission measurements of scaled models of antipodal finline tapers in W-band frequency range.
