Abstract


A salt compn. contg. 10-55 wt.% KNO2, 15-35 wt.% NaNO2, and 10-35 wt.% LiNO3 or its aq. soln. is used for storing and/or transferring thermal energy. The compn. can further contain ≤ 10 wt.% Ca(NO3)2 and 30-50 wt.% KNO3. The compn. contains at least one of the following salts: NaNO3, Sr(NO3)2, Ba(NO3)2, RbNO3, or CsNO3. The aq. soln. contains ≥ 30 wt.% of the salt compn. and ≤ 70 wt.% water. [on SciFinder(R)]
