Abstract

Two solutions for high power terahertz radiation are discussed in this paper. The first solution is based on classical array theory, presenting an array of 55 elements, where we achieve upon combining the beams an increased directivity of 18 dB in comparison with the 8 dB of an isolated antenna. Measurements for the different elements of the array are presented. The second solution is the use of large area emitters, where the larger area allows a higher illumination power having a higher radiated power. © 2012 IEEE.
