Abstract

The focus of this work lies on a new compact layout of the analog front-end of a six-port receiver. One drawback of this receiver architecture is its large physical dimension, which makes it hard to fabricate it as a monolithic microwave circuit (MMIC). In this paper the theoretical aspects of the system concept will be shown and a new folded multi-layer layout of the passive analog structure will be presented. The new design is compared to the classic planar layout.
