Abstract

The paper deals with investigation of the luminescent properties of Er and Er/Ce doped solid solutions of YYbAG garnets with x values ranging from 0 to 3.0, prepared by the LPE method in the form of single crystalline films (SCF). We have found that the effective Ce→Yb energy transfer is observed in the YYbAlO:Er,Ce garnets (YYbAG:Er,Ce). Apart from that, strong enhancement of the Er upconvesion luminescence in YYbAG:Er,Ce garnets was found due to the Ce codoping. Among all the investigated samples of solid solutions of mixed YYbAG:Er,Ce garnets, the highest intensity of the up-conversion luminescence is observed for the YYbAG:Er,Ce SCF.
