Short description
The project "FAU Teacher Education International" refers to the current educational policy and recommendations on internationalization in higher education and to research results and best practices in the field of internationalisation of teacher education and pays special attention to the regulations for teacher education in Bavaria. Its main goal is to achieve a sustainable internationalisation of teacher education at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU). All student in teacher education should have an opportunity to gain international experience. Internationalisation in teacher education includes international mobility, internationalisation at home and in virtual classrooms (internet-based courses and virtual mobility) and will be implemented in all curricular elements of teacher education (subject-related studies, subject-related didactics, and educational sciences). In addition, the project facilitates the co-operation between the first and the third phase of teacher education (e.g. in the network "Internationalisation of Education in the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region"). The projects addresses the diversity of study programmes and subjects, the linguistic and cultural diversity and the breadth of international co-operation in teacher education. In addition to the evaluation of the project, there are further project-related research activities in the field of the internationalisation of teacher education that contribute to the scientific discourse and research in teacher education.
Scientific Abstract
Das Projekt „FAU Lehramt International“ greift aktuelle bildungspolitische Diskussionen und Empfehlungen zur Internationalisierung sowie Forschungsergebnisse und Best-Practice-Erfahrungen zur Internationalisierung der Lehrkräftebildung unter besonderer Beachtung der Lehramtsprüfungsordnung I in Bayern auf und zielt auf die Etablierung eines nachhaltigen Konzeptes der Internationalisierung der Lehrkräftebildung an der FAU. Allen Lehramtsstudierenden soll ein Angebot für internationale Erfahrungen gemacht werden. Internationalisierung in der Lehrkräftebildung wird durch Auslandserfahrungen (Mobilität) und durch internationalization at home sowie in den virtuellen Bildungsräumen (internetbasierte Studienangebote) erreicht. Das Konzept sieht vor, dass Internationalisierungsaktivitäten in Fachwissenschaften, Fachdidaktiken und Bildungswissenschaften implementiert werden. Darüber hinaus werden Kooperationen zwischen der ersten und der dritten Phase der Lehrkräftebildung (wie z. B. im Netzwerk „Internationalisierung von Bildung in der Metropolregion Nürnberg“) angestrebt. Damit wird der Diversität der Studiengänge und Fächer, der sprachlich-kulturellen Vielfalt und der Breite der internationalen Beziehungen Rechnung getragen. Im Rahmen von „FAU Lehramt International“ werden begleitende Forschungsprojekte im Bereich der Internationalisierung der Lehrkräftebildung durchgeführt. Neben der begleitenden Forschung wird das Projekt evaluiert.
