Scientific Abstract

This is a co-study by the Universities of Derby and Erlangen-Nuremburg of Teacher education students and tutors’ understanding of University learning and University spaces. This study builds on the growing interest for different types of learning, the relationship with physical space and the overall impact on student experience. Its research attempts to describe, explain and transform the learning landscape in two European Higher Education institutions. Building on data collected from Teacher Education students, the researchers carried out real and virtual changes to identified University learning spaces as a direct result of the findings.
