Short description
Sub-project B1 deals with the simulation of the powder recoating process for additive manufacturing. The focus here is the investigation of the recoating mechanism by means of realistic discrete element method (DEM) simulations considering the particle shape and the thermomechanical properties of the powder, as well as the influence of multiple recoated layers and molten region. The aim is to derive optimized time-sensitive recoating strategies and the study of alternative mechanisms that can be tested in practice to improve the quality of the manufactured component.
Scientific Abstract
Das Teilprojekt B1 beschäftigt sich mit der Simulation des Auftragsprozesses von Pulvern beim Strahlschmelzen von Kunststoffen (LSS-K). Im Fokus steht hier die Untersuchung des Auftragsmechanismus durch realistische Diskrete-Elemente-Methode (DEM) Simulationen unter Berücksichtigung der Partikelform und der thermomechanischen Eigenschaften des Pulvers sowie des Einflusses mehrerer aufgerakelter Schichten und des geschmolzenen Bereichs. Ziel ist es, optimierte, zeitabhängige Strategien für den Auftragsmechanismus zu entwickeln und alternative Mechanismen zu untersuchen, die in der Praxis getestet werden können, um die Qualität des hergestellten Bauteils zu verbessern.
