Abstract
Obesogenic Environments encompass the entirety of environmental influences that contribute to the development of obesity. On the micro level, these are local environments (also called settings) like kindergartens, schools, the residential environment and the family, while on the macro level these are sectors like the education- and health care system, industry, mass media and politics. Settings as well as sectors entail physical, economic, political and sociocultural aspects with obesogenic effect.
