Abstract

SIW technology shows promising approaches for mm-Wave applications, especially for radar sensors. In this workshop, a complete 61 GHz six-port radar system will be presented, and the underlying system and circuit concepts are discussed. The radio frequency frontend is realized as system on substrate in a mixed SIW-micro-strip-technology to make the systems insensitive to external interference. The individual building blocks, such as the SIW fed Vivaldi antenna design, SIW coupler and power dividers, as well as the necessary transitions to the power detectors, attenuators and the MMICs are presented. Furthermore, measurements of the individual components and the complete system are shown.
