Abstract

Renal perfusion might be the key factor in controlling the systemic blood pressure. While up to no now, there is no way to measure renal perfusion non-invasively, a promising technique might be MRimaging with arterial spin labeling. This technique was developed to measure brain perfusion. In contrast to the brain the kidney is moving due to breathing, which makes post processing of the acquired images a demanding issue. In this work, we present a tool that supports a physician in performing kidney perfusion analysis using this technique. To accommodate this, we will show a custom tailored segmentation and registration approach that can cope with the challenges of this technique. By using this tool, the physician can analyze kidney perfusion using less images which enhances usability in clinical day to day application.
