Abstract

Due to recent developments in sheet-bulk metal forming processes, holistic and production related measuring systems are required which provide reliable results from all relevant formed part features. The multi scale multisensor approach, which combines several sensors of different measuring methods, resolutions and ranges, accomplishes the requirements of the new production technology. A specially developed methodological procedure allowed a structured system development with different goals as an interim result. The resulting multi scale multisensor measurement system, based on three different fringe projection sensors, allows dimensional measurements of characteristicswhose size exceeds themeasuring range of one single sensor.
