Abstract

In times of rare spectrum our generation has to think if it is useful that every service has its own spectrum. PMSE, broadcast and BOS services use different frequencies an methods to solve the current situation. Because of the upcoming 5G standard the question arises if mobile communication can support the other services or even in the end if there can be one platform for all services and can use all frequency bands with the newest technologies. In this paper we consider this question in the case of broadcasting and PMSE services. There are two excellent projects in which we simulate, measure and analyse the chances for 5G as a platform for all services. The focus lies on the Unicast and Multicast, as well as SISO and SIMO transmission modes. A simulator, which is implemented in Matlab, is used as the simulation tool. The simulation results are presented in dependence of the bit error rate over the signal to noise ratio. This allows a qualitative statement about the reception quality.
