Abstract

In this paper a hybrid method for determining the coupling coefficient of the near field identification systems is suggested. The method is called hybrid, because it processes the simulation data from full wave field simulator in the PSpice environment. By combination of the S parameter simulation, which describes the spacial interaction between the two coils of the near field identification system at the resonant frequency and PSpice simulation, where the exact currents in the coils can be obtained, it is possible to determine the coupling factor between the coils fast and with high accuracy, without the necessity of building a sophisticated measurement setup. Additionally the performance of the system could be evaluated under different surrounding conditions, since metallic walls and dielectric structures could be easily implemented into the full wave field simulator environment.
