Abstract

In the field of molecular communications (MC) new transport phenomena for the transmission of information have to be investigated. Especially the diffusion of particles in fluids serves as a channel model in MC. The dynamics of diffusion processes can be modeled by the application of functional transformations. They lead to powerful semi-analytical models, which offer advantages over pure numerical models, e.g low run-time algorithms, high variability, analytical relation to parameters from communications theory, and the extendability to different kinds of boundary conditions.
