Scientific Abstract

We investigate collective emission characteristics of independent sources, having, in particular, relative distances larger than the emission wavelength. By studying the state evolution of the scattered fields in a quantum path picture, we derive and explain quantum optical effects like Dicke superradiance, subradiance, hyperradiance, simultaneous antibunching, bunching and superbunching, as well as generalized Hong-Ou-Mandel interferences or boson sampling in free space.
