Scientific Abstract

The project is concentrated on the recognition, elderly people at the age of 65 to 75 experience, being voluntary workers. We focus on the informal recognition and the informal recognition culture, which is created by the actors of voluntary work. The realization of recognition practice in voluntary work is reflected in context of the development of organizational culture. We inquire which importance for elderly voluntary workers the informal recognition has compared to the formal recognition and which effects the recognition has on learning processes in old age. The research follows two layers: On the micro level it concerns effects of diverse forms of recognition on elderly people and their aging processes, on the meso level it concerns the effects of the need for recognition on the development of organizational culture of the voluntary work.Thereby the study will make a contribution to the geragogical discourse of learning in old age, to the discourse of organizational education and to the pedagogy of recognition.
