Abstract (technical / expert description):


We study methods for the generation of various entangled states, encoded in the polarization, position, momentum or orbital-angular momentum degrees of freedom of photons or atoms within the same experimental setup. Starting with uncorrelated particles and using linear optical detection tools only, we investigate the creation of entire entanglement classes like the GHZ- and W-family.
