Abstract (technical / expert description):


The aim of this project is to develop a particularly efficient manufacturing process based on powder injection molding to produce one-piece complete implants for dental surgery. The intention is to combine the advantages of a one-piece implant with immediate loading thanks to an exterior parabolic design adapted to mechanical and medical requirements, and with special surface structuring based on micro-grooves and the differing material properties of titanium and zirconium oxide. Titanium is the ideal material for implantation into bone as titanium oxide can directly bind proteins on the surface by means of hydrogen bonds, and the elasticity modulus of titanium comes closest to that of bone. Zirconium oxide, on the other hand, is ideal in the gingival area, as its color is similar to that of dental enamel and it fuses well with the gingiva.
