Tristan Schlögl graduated in mechanical engineering at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in 2012. Since 2013, he is a research assistant at the Chair of Applied Dynamics at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU). In his work, he deals with the modelling, simulation and optimal control of dielectric elastomers. His findings contribute to the `artificial muscle' project of the FAU, in which stacked dielectric elastomers are manufactured and used as actuators in humanoid structures.
