With reading being limited to the visual sense, current approaches to literary studies take into account a wide variety of multi-sensory transfers of literary texts: adaptations, mash-ups, multimedia performances, and hyperfiction constitute but a few of the topics analyzed in projects which keep close ties to related disciplines such as film and media studies, or the digital humanities.
